Ernesto is still out there batting

hi ernie!

Mining's NewBestMexicanFriend, Ernesto Echavarria, is still out there batting hard it seems. He's had mixed results so far, having been royally creamed by the scammers at ATW Gold (ATW.v) and having no luck with Rye Patch Gold (RPM.v) either, but on the other hand hitting a good win so far in Copper Fox (CUU.v) and also making decent coin on Pediment (PEZ.to).

So today we note that Ernesto is upping his stake in Animas Resources (ANI.v), buying in for the second time (at least) into this explorer doing Mexico and taking up over half the latest 35c placement: Here's the paste from the page:

ANI is a company that this humble author has always watched from the sidelines, as the company personnel have a good reputation for honesty and straight-shooting while the projects themselves haven't really lived up to the billing so far. Anyway, Otto sez that SeƱor Echavarria is in better company here than the ex-Can of Corn scumballs that screwed him in Australia. DYODD.

Copper Fox (CUU.v) gets treasury

With our pal Ernesto Echavarria (he loves his CUU and PEZ, but don't mention ATW Gold if you meet him, willyaz?...might ruin the conversation) exercising his warrants position in Copper Fox (CUU.v), the company now has an extra half million dollars in the treasury pot for its development fun and games. Not a king's ransom, but quite auseful number for a $40m mkt capper.

Message to Ernesto Echavarria: Welcome to the Canadian stock market, sir

And I bet that Luke Norman dude sounded so convincing at the time. Then he sold his shares to you. Then the bad news came along, then Norman resigned from the company. Then the PR today as the creditors jump the queue....

But don't worry dude, you'll be better off with Pediment if you help them push through that land deal. If not, there's always the Marina.

Tequila Sunrises served. The end.

UPDATE:
Take a wild guess as to who said this in May 2009? Of all the gold companies out there, he had to top-pick the one that drops by nearly half during the gold bull run.

My favorite gold producer today is ATW Gold Corp. They are an advertiser and we own a lot of shares. Obviously, I’m biased, but I’ve known and followed these guys for three or four years. They have two mines in Australia, Burnakura and Gullewa. They’ve got a big drill program going on at Gullewa right now. They’re actually in production at Burnakura. They were picking up $50 million worth of mine and mill for $3 or $4 million. The purchases were brilliant. They pumped a lot of money into the ground. They built up the resource. They’re producing gold now. They’ll be cash flow positive in a matter of weeks. They’ll have the second mine in production, and should be doing about 100,000 ounces a year production in a year to 18 months.
My thanks to reader 'H' for the headsup. I really should pay more attention to these contrary indicators.....

ATW Gold (ATW.v): A strange coincidence

Luke Norman: Nice tie, no job

On August 27th, Luke Norman, director of ATW Gold, sold half a million shares on the open market at 54c. The counterparty was Ernesto Echavarria, a man who had earlier bought eleven million shares in a private placement at the near-same price (53c).

On September 11th, ATW.v released bad news and the stock dropped. It now stands at 38c, or 29.6% lower than when Norman sold his shares.

On September 17th, Norman late-filed his trade.

On September 18th, this humble corner of cyberspace reported on Norman and his smelly deal in this post entitled "Once a Canaccord broker, always a Canaccord broker".

On September 22nd (i.e. today), Luke Norman resigned his post at ATW Gold. Here's the snip from tonight's PR:
Further, the Company reports that Luke Norman has resigned as Director and VP of Corporate Development of ATW Gold Corp. We thank him for his contribution and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
Strange coincidence that, isn't it?
