Focus Ventures (FCV.v) and The Yorkshire Tell
Here's a freebie for all concerned. People from Yorkshire England are famous for being...well, what's the diplomatic phrase here?....errrr...."CAREFUL WITH THEIR MONEY AND HOW THEY SPEND IT" * and so when a Yorkshireman born and bred goes out on a limb and puts his own hard-earned cash on the line, pay extra attention because it's a big tell for the near-term future.

UPDATE: Reader "D" mails in:
Hello Miss
I wish to register a complaint.
These Python chaps obviously think it is clever to mock individuals who emanate from Gods own country when they obviously have no idea of the hardships that have been endured there ( well apart from that Palin one and he is from Sheffield so that doesn't count really ).
I really lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out. When we got home, our Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt! It is true I tell you.
I am so disappointed that such a fine purveyor of research such as yourself has taken such blatant anti yorkist propoganda as gospel.
We are the most generous people within the British Isles - why, I remember clearly buying my brother a pint for the millenium celebrations ( not that he returned the favour... git!).
Otto please... your impartiality and balance of judgement are clearly failing.
Recant without delay and make atonement by offering a discount to all subscribers who emanate from the broad acres.
Your sincerely
(Sir) Geoffery Boycott
IKN Adds: Reader D's argument is made suspicious by the mis-spelling of Boyk's name. Surely no true Yorkshire blood would do such a thing?

Is Simon Ridgway bringing Emerick Resources (ERC.v) out the broom cupboard?
Simon Ridg....hold on! Shome mishtake shurely ossifer!
The Gold Group stable (aka "The Ridgway Companies") have had a pretty decent last six months, as this chart shows. Radius (RDU.v) is up tons, Fortuna (FVI.to) over a double, new kid in town Iron Creek (IRN.v) has started well and even Focus Ventures (FCV.v), beaten up when its Nueva California drill program caught a whole bunch of newsletter writers overhyping, has made a recovery from lows and is active with the drill machine again.
All except Emerick Resources (ERC.v) that is, the Ridgway Yukon area vehicle that found very little via chasing up soil samples at its projects in 2009. Yup it's up a bit, but the volumes have been pitiful with zero market interest about the ticker. But is that about to change? Checking over at insider activity this morning, we note....

...insiders taking up a position in ERC (with the name "Cass" particularly intruiging). I don't own ERC and I'm not planning on changing that in the near future, but I will be keeping an eye out on the newsflow to see if the company starts the resurrection shuffle. This one got pumped by Casey back in 2009 and although it's the type of promo that house tends to "forget" they ever did, it does show that the communications channels are already set for the shepherds. DYODD, dude.

Focus on gossip
So apparently, the reason why Focus Ventures (FCV.v) stock has done this in the past few days.....
......is that the company is about to release news of a new property deal in Peru. Ts getting crossed and i's getting dotted right about now on this one, in fact.
Strange, you'd have thought that jungledrums getting out like this would be frowned upon by Ridgway&Co, what with their normally decent industry reputations, but it seems that they don't care so much. DYODD dude and watch those wires to see if the IKN dope is vrai, faux ou salade.
UPDATE: O RLY?

Black country gossip
Hey, did you know that Ridgway bought 100,000 shares of FCV.v last Thursday? It's not on Canadian Insider yet, but if you click on this link Tuesday (i.e. tomorrow) you'll see it filed.

Focus Ventures (FCV.v)
Focus Ventures (FCV.v) came out with drill results from its 'Nueva California' project this morning. Find the presser right here and find the market reaction right here:

Yup, exploration is a tough, tough game. The drills found gold, but really not enough to make anybody go "this is a mine". However all is not lost, cos the people behind FCV.v aren't a bunch of scamsters. Quite the opposite in fact; they have a high reputation for good work and honesty (not like others we could mention that constantly BS the market and need to be avoided like the plague).
So Focus Ventures has lost a round in the fight, but not the fight itself. Over at The IKN Weekly we've been watching and waiting on the stock without taking a position, so if the price drops sufficiently there may eventually be a buying opportunity (but there'll be no rush to move in this week, that's for sure). More on Sunday, folks, but so far the waiting game on this play has paid off.
