Junior Mining Corporate Re-Naming Pronunciation Question of the Day

This humble scribe hears that the merger of Linear Gold (LRR.to) and Apollo Gold (APG.to) is now voted through and the new company is with us. Here's the NR:
Press Release Source: Apollo Gold Corporation On Thursday June 24, 2010, 6:51 pm EDT

DENVER & HALIFAX, Nova Scotia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apollo Gold Corporation (TSX: APG - News) (NYSE Amex: AGT) (“Apollo”) and Linear Gold Corp. (TSX: LRR - News) (“Linear”) report that their shareholders overwhelmingly approved the business combination (“the Merger”) of the two companies to form Brigus Gold Corp. (“Brigus Gold”) at their respective meetings of shareholders earlier today continues here

So, it only remains to be seen how this new name "Brigus" is pronounced. Does it
a) rhyme with "Bribe Us"? (and why that little phrase sprung to mind is totally beyond me)

b) rhyme with "Biggus"? (as in the famous Monty Python scene)

Inquiring minds, etc.....

UPDATE
Friday AM: This from reader 'MP':

I believe it is pronounced /br-gəs/ ; as in bogus...

Linear Gold (LRR.to): Lipstick, meet pig: Pig, this is lipstick

pucker up, baby

This one made me laugh. You have a joint venture option agreement with a big world miner. The project is in the polrisk red hot zone of Chiapas, Mexico. So when the big world miner partner declines the option and hands the property back to you it's made to sound like a distinct advantage and the best thing that could have happened to the company.

Cue Linear Gold's PR today:
Linear Gold Maintains a 100% Interest in the Ixhuatan Project, Mexico

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 29, 2009) - Linear Gold Corp. (TSX:LRR - News; "Linear") announces that it has received notice from Kinross Gold Corporation that they will not exercise their option to acquire an initial 60% interest in the Ixhuatan Project, thereby allowing Linear to maintain its 100% interest in the project. The Ixhuatan Project covers an area of over 98,000 hectares, in Chiapas, Mexico, including the yada yada continues here

Oh goody! A bidding war in the LatAm gold sector

Read the PRs yourself, but basically B2Gold (BTO.to) is trying to snatch Central Sun (CSM.to) (SMC) from under the noses of Linear Gold (LRR.to).

Here's Central Sun's PR
Here's Linear Gold's PR
Here's B2Gold's PR

This should be interesting. As mentioned on the site recently, B2Gold is a fairly new company but made up of the management team of the now sold Bema Gold, so these people are no slackers. Personally I just hope that whoever gets control of Central Sun boots out the mgmt responsible for the environmental mess known as The Limon Mine and cleans up the act over there.

Chart of the day is.........

........Linear Gold's (LRR.to) three month price chart.

Your social Otto has had two separate conversations about this stock since it announced its merger with Central Sun (CSM.to). The first one was just after Christmas when the stock had moved a bit, then the second was on January 6th when the stock moved a lot. (I hope the first person bought some and I hope the second person didn't).

But then after it moved again, and fast. "Really strange to be a sleeper that long and then suddenly ping 50% or so". That was until yesterday's news of the $15m bought deal. It's just the houses playing their little games after all.

Bottom line; if you like this stock, maybe wait a while longer cos the recent price run-up was a Bay St. special. DYODD dude, but one thing i'll add is that I'm glad LRR.to has taken over CSM.to because now there's a chance there abysmally contaminating Limon mine in Nicaragua cleans up its act. I don't own either stock and never have.
