Blackfire translated: Canada's corrupt miners explained in real English

The Mex Files has taken up the cause of the scumbag miner that was up until recently operating in the Chiapas region of Mexico (until it decided that political assassinations were a smart hearts'n'minds operation, that is) and provides a useful translation of what they said compared to what it actually means. Here's the link.

In the world of the corrupt Canadian miner....

....if you pay a bribe you are an innocent victim of extortion. A good job of reporting from G&M's Andy Hoffman. Excerpt:
In an interview, Blackfire president Brent Willis said the company thought the payments were being made to the town and to sponsor the annual fair, not to the mayor personally.

The company also thinks that Santa Claus exists, the tooth fairies really do come and take away those molars from under your pillows late at night and that thing about childbirth being painful can't be true cos storks bring them along in wicker baskets. But your not allowed to mention any of this in Canada, ya knowz, cos it upsets the mentally challenged sector of fine upstandin' citizens that think butter wouldn't melt in the mouth of its mining executives.

Robin Williams said it best: Blame Canada

This man is dead

Nice, friendly, unassuming race, the Canadians. Never hurt a fly. Unless of course you threaten to block their mining operations and that's when people suddenly get shot dead by "unknown assassins". This from narcosphere news (by the way, there's plenty of coverage in Spanish language, but amazingly, incredibly, astoundingly the story has been ignored by EngLang media).

Mariano Abarca Roblero, one of Mexico's most prominent anti-mining organizers, was shot to death on the evening of November 27, 2009, in front of his house in Chicomuselo, Chiapas. He left behind a wife and four children. Another man was wounded in the shooting. The incident comes just days after Abarca filed charges against two Blackfire employees, Ciro Roblero Perez and Luis Antonio Flores Villatoro, for threatening to shoot him if he didn't stop organizing against Canadian mining company Blackfire's barium mine in Chicomuselo continues here.
