Sunday Night Python: The Llama Sketch

I love this, it's so random.

The translation is pretty good, too.

The Friday OT: Monty Python; Argument Clinic

Classic, worth watching a hundred times.

The joke is still surreally fresh after all these years, but the thing that makes me go "wow" the most about this sketch is the consummate comic timing of John Cleese. Just as one example, Cleese's "yes it is" at minute 1:07 bats off Palin beautifully and gets a laugh where nobody else could.

But hell...too much analysis. This is just plain funny.

UPDATE: For another Friday funny video, I recommend ten percent's offering tonight. Good stuff.

The Friday OT: The Philosopher's Song and Omar Kayyam

Another quick snip of Python:

This Friday OT is accompanied by a small chunk of The Rubáiyát by Omar Kayyám*. Enjoy your weekend...and hey, pour yourself a glass of wine while you're at it.

Yesterday this day’s madness did prepare;
Tomorrow’s silence, triumph, or despair:
Drink! for you know not whence you came, nor why:
Drink! for you know not why you go, nor where.

*Thinking about it large chunks of Rubáiyát would be fine cos the whole thing is about getting sloshed, but let's keep it at a single quatrain.

The Friday OT: The Whizzo Chocolate Company by Monty Python's Flying Circus

I thought about embedding a Michael Jackson tune, but as Ten Percent beat me to it with the best MJ track of all time (the awesome 'Blame It On The Boogie', go watch it on this link) there was little point.

So here goes with a triple bill of top Python taken from 'Live at the Hollywood Bowl'. First up is 'Whizzo Chocolates' (one of the finest sketches ever and often overlooked), then the wonderfully wonderful 'Albatross' (dedicated as always to Paddy Anderson...bless him) and finished off with 'Nudge Nudge'.

Remember; if we took the bones out it wouldn't be crunchy. Enjoy.

The Friday OT: Monty Python's Fish Slapping Dance

x
It's 16 seconds long, it's two people, it's fish, it's perfect.

There are so many Python moments to choose from, but as this is John Cleese's favourite ever MPFC sketch it's good enough for this humble corner of cyberspace, too.

Go on, hit that play button. Give yourself a good laugh. I bet that if you do you won't be able to resist pressing 'replay',
