Venezuela vote things

1. The election is proceeding calmly, which is good. There is one seemingly isolated incident so far, where eleven people in the Tachíra area were detained temporarily following the failed attempt to mess with a voting machine and the destruction of some vote receipts. Apart from that, both pro-gov't and opposition people agree that the vote is being carried out in a free and fair way.

2. El Chigüire is still the best blog to follow (Spanish language). Check this out...just wonderful.

3. Bloomberg has a timeline post up today that shows major moments in the political life of Hugo Chávez. You can argue with the small comments if you like, I suppose, but there's hardly anything too inflammatory there. A useful source to get a basic handle on things.
