Bolivia's property boom

This report in Bolivia's 'Los Tiempos' newspaper highlights how the tropical area of Bolivia's Cochabamba department has seen property prices increase rapidly over past couple of years. Terrains that sold for U$20 per square metre are now fetching U$50/m2. The reason? Bolivia's strengthening economy, its constant GDP growth, its currency that has appreciated well against the dollar and the new infrastructure built by the Morales government in the country (roads, hospitals, etc) that makes cheap land suddenly very attractive.

The boom isn't just confined to one area of one department, either, as all major populated regions of Bolivia report significant increases in house and land prices. So tell me again, how are property prices doing up there in your neck of the woods?
