Chile earthquake: Major aftershocks

the UGSG earthquake tracker website is here

The blue squares on the map are shocks less than 24 hours old, the yellow ones are up to a week old (but really they're all Saturday early morning onwards and following the big one). Over a hundred aftershocks all told so far, with the furthest away registered in Ecaudor a few minutes ago (5.1mag). We've had experts on the shows this morning telling us that aftershocks can be expected until 2011, too....this was a big big quake.

As for the death toll, we're now up to 708 confirmed dead and 300 missing people. The Tsunami on the Chilean coast was far more deadly than people first thought, too.
