Argentina 1, Brazil 3

I didn't do the usual South America qualifiers post for a good reason. As an Argentina fan and knowing my awful record as a tipster I didn't want to mention futbol on the blog all week to try and avoid putting some sort of cabalistic curse on the albicelestes.

It didn't work, and to be quite honest I wasn't surprised at watching Brazil beat Argentina last night. Not very enjoyable, but not at all surprising. What with one thing and another, Argentina will most probably qualify for the South Africa finals anyway, but truly I say unto you that Brazil has a very, but very good football team this time around and have to be my pick to win the whole enchilada next year. Brazil is the complete package, with a world class goalkeeper, a very solid defence, Kaká in midfield who was simply superb and yet another crop of attackers up front who do what Brazil is most famous for doing with ease...score goals.

As much as it might hurt, the truth has to be said. Brazil has a much better football team than Argentina this era and has to be the favourite next year.
