THIS NOTICE IS BEING ISSUED BECAUSE THE TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (TSA) HAS BEEN UNABLE TO ASSESS WHETHER THESE AIRPORTS MEET THE SECURITY STANDARDS ADOPTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANIZATION (ICAO), AS MANDATED BY 49 U.S.C. 44907.
PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF 49 U.S.C. 114, I HAVE DIRECTED THAT A COPY OF THIS NOTICE BE PUBLISHED IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER, THAT THIS NOTICE BE DISPLAYED PROMINENTLY IN ALL U.S. AIRPORTS REGULARLY BEING SERVED BY SCHEDULED AIR CARRIER OPERATIONS, AND THAT THE NEWS MEDIA BE NOTIFIED OF MY DECISION TO INFORM THE TRAVELING PUBLIC.
